Call 2 World

Hello Everyone,

The following poem is one of my favourites. Created based on something I read as a child.  I am linking it now to the Jingle Poetry At the Gooseberry Garden's Poetry Picnic week 25. Don't forget to enjoy the same.

--x--

Blessed indeed, the humans are, with a beautiful nature
but, still, weep & beg we shall, for the want of love.
Proved it is, in every deed, that human nature
must be ashamed, because we cant any-more love.

Depends, the fate of humanity, on each of us
as, spreading is the venom of terrorism, by the day.
Dying are the innocents, for no fault of theirs
and hanging is our future, ah On the corrupt politicians of the day.

Changing, is the world, into fire of hell
waiting are a few, to free us from blindness.
By ringing aloud the awakening bell,
to eliminate, from depths of human heart, the darkness.

Chanting that, “affection of man” to other
if killed among streets & on roads, we’ll
surely fall apart not, only, at the border
& in peace we shall never dwell.

Nothing it costs to grab humanity with ease
than a 70 mm smile that wipes away your loss
& to change this world of terror to peace
To prove that world looks the way, the society makes.

Why I write -- Blog Fest!!

Hello Everyone,

How is your week going on?? Enjoying I guess!! So, this post is in response to the Why I Write Blog-fest held by kayeleen's creative corner. The concept is simple, tell one good a reason, why you write!! Ha!!

Well, I think this is easy. Everyone faced this question earlier. Sometimes we had awesome answers, sometimes we hid be "coz I want to"!! Well, my answer is awesome and kind of excuse too!!

I write coz I want to. I see that, when I write a book / article / poem , people read it and appreciate it. It feels good to be appreciated. It feels awesome! When, people see my characters rising over daily trifles, they co-relate to these characters and may find some hope to rise!! Books keep the dreams of children alive, give hope to teenagers and re-create the fantasy in adults!! So I write.

Authors become immortal too!! I write for this reason too!! What are your reasons?? Let me know!!

Seeking Higher Motivation ????

Hello Everyone,

The other day, I came across a rather interesting article in Times Of India's Speaking Tree special edition paper!! I kinda felt it cool!!  Lol!!! This article wouldn't be here unless I loved that article right?? Ha ha!! It says,

"Faith in a higher power motivates some to create good music or writing .. For others it's inner strength that helps them to tide over a crisis or create a masterpiece" and continues speaking about people who find their god in music, drugs, between covers ....

The starting lines of the article are cool too: Have a look at them:
I am not afraid to take a stand
Everybody come take my hand
We'll walk this road together
through the storm
whatever weather , cold or war

I just feel happy when I write and when someone tells me how they feel about my writing!! Never heard / thought of Writer's high!!

Do you find god between covers?? Do writers have a "Writer's High" just like runner's high?? You have ever experienced it?? Let me know about it!!!

MC Blogfest

Hello Everyone,

How is your week going on?? Enjoying all the wonderful blog-fests??  Mine is awesome!! I am literally enjoying!! After a long & boring break, I started enjoying the fun of blogging again!! Ha!! Isn't it awesome!!

So this post is in response to the MC Blog-fest on Author Elizabeth Mueller. The concept is simple, I am gonna pretend that I am the Main Character (MC) of my WIP and will answer the three questions put together for this blog-fest.
 --x--
Introduction of my WC:

Edward Newgate, is the name I choose for my WC. The work is fiction in nature, related to Young Adult in a military background. Edward Newgate was a plump nerd who falls in love with a girl from his high school and when his love fails, he joins Army to serve the nation.

Questions and Answers:

Question 1: What are your greatest fears?

I fear loneliness above all. When, the princess of my heart choose someone else for herself, I didn't know what to do. I cried for myself and became depressed. After that I moved on and started genuinely loving everyone around and helping them all. I feel lonely unless I am in company. I feel distant from some of my close friends. I just dunno!! Once in army, everyone is my family. We are a big family. I feel like helping them all to outshine me and helping them all to achieve their goals. I find happiness in it but I dunno if they all love me!! I dunno if  I will ever have a person to hug all-day and everyday!!

Question 2: What is your biggest accomplishment?
I just dunno! I have scaled heights, for sure. I am independent from the age of eighteen. I took care of my parents and showed them the power of riches. I got down on weight from about 90 kgs to 60 kgs in a year with exercise and diet only. I joined the army, a feet considered almost impossible for me by everyone. I didn't loose a single man till date in combat. But, what is my biggest accomplishment?? I dunno!! I think, I have helped people outshine every accomplishment of mine. I had the heart to help them all, I cultivated that heart!! It didn't come by birth! This is my biggest accomplishment I guess!!

Question 3: What is your biggest regret?

person thinking cartoon, cartoon, thinking person, person cartoon, cartoon thinking face, thinking, cartoon
Person Thinking Cartoon
I should have proposed my girl a lot early. I will not mention her name, for a girl with such good heart needs no stains. I should have done it. I was a fool, thinking like adults, planning to propose after I settle down. Was confidence the reason? No, I was sure, she would say yes. But, I waited to earn big bucks and then ask her to be my princess! I didn't know then, that I was to ask her to become princess of my heart and not my estate!!
--x--

Good job or not?? What do you think about my MC?? Is he cool?? Is he fool?? Let me know!! Eager to read my book??

First Page Critique -- Blog-Fest

Hello Everyone,

This post is in response to the First Page Critique Blog-fest, held on Shelly Watters blog. The rules of the blog-fest are simple:

  • Post the first 250 words from your work. The work must be complete.
  • Your work must fall into one of the following genres: YA, Middle Grade, memoir, pop-culture non-fiction, and women’s commercial fiction.

Without any more delay, here is my Entry!!

--x--
Title Of Book: 3 things about my Facebook!!
Genre: Young Adult
First 250 words:
My world was a sweet dream. I was the luckiest man on earth for I got to know whom I love the most. I had a father who loves money more than anything. I had a job that pays me about $200 at a young age of 19. I was confident that I could win the heart of my princess, become rich, become popular and of course famous. And I had ample dreams of becoming a huge, successful author.

On the fateful morning of Dec 4, the princess of my world, Ms. Ammu, invited me to her home for a get-together. Well everything went well I hope. We all had fun, enjoyed together and had delicious lunch. I was introduced to a young lad that day. Mr. Vinay, Ammu's Boyfriend. Well, I understood
what Harry Potter meant by my internals are filled with lead that very moment. I didn't know what to do then. I also had to hear their story with a smile on my face. A 70mm smile which came from depths of heart.

Well, I at least understood how outdated I am. How remote I have become from my own, one time classmates. I couldn't answer the questions like "What am I?" & "What the hell I am gonna do now?" Could I move on? Is this what is called as break-up? Isn't this the catastrophe of the century? Half my colleagues were ready to round up Vinay and kick the hell out of him.."

--x--

What do you feel the book is about?? In one sentence, the book is   "Story of outdated young man, who joins facebook, to find out his true inner self, socialize with everyone and come out of depression  but ends up gaining new friends, enjoying random dates, doing adventures, losing quite a few friends and closing the facebook for winning his true new found love"

I just dunno, if you would like it or not!!! But, I am planning to publish the same soon!! On a blog!! Will let you know as soon as I am done!!

Love Robots -- Flash Fiction

Hello Everyone,

This post is in response to the wonderful flash fiction challenge on the TerribleMinds.com!! The concept is as simple as writing a 1000 word fiction story, which tells out your opinion on loving robos!! Isn't it cool??  So, lets not waste anymore time!! Here we go

--x--
"Here is the tool set you have asked for!!! For Christ's sake, why do you need it so bad??" , spoke Jack, coming into my room, wet from the rain

"Ha Jack!! Thanks a million.  My apologies for the trouble. It is Ann. I know I could rely on you for the tool set!!"

"What happened to your tool set??"
"I don't maintain one!! The screwdriver and the hammer are missing!!"
"Tools come handy man!! You must care for them!! Check out, this hammer is the favorite of my grandpa!! he wouldn't allow
anyone of us to bring a new hammer into the home though this  one has become rusty and old!! So .. what is the trouble now?? You are in your working clothes?"
"Well, take a look at this!! Nasty right?"
"Not really!! What happened to it??"
"It accidentally slipped over the stairs. Ann isn't ready to have food unless, it is repaired. Ann isn't accepting the new one I have ordered!! See how cool the new one is!!"
"Red!! Ann doesn't like red!! But, this new one has much better looks"
"It isn't about the color. Ann feels, they are humans. Ann feels she is attached to the 'Kid-320G'. The red one there is 'Kid-550G', a hundred times more advanced. Plays with you, talks to you, drinks tea, plays music and dances in three different modes"
"Attached?? k!! So, she doesn't want a new play - buddy? or what is it??"
"She is okay with as many new play buddies as I can get her! Ann doesn't throw away her old toys!! What are these?? Lifeless Electro-mechanical toys!! Can't she understand it?" Shouted I, fixing the leg of the play buddy!!
"Hmmm!! And how did this accident happen??" asked Jack, curiously knowing that I have something to do with it!!
"Well, it was accident!! Liz fell down from strairs", explained I, cursing myself for having to repair this stupid doll!!
"Liz?? Who is Liz??" asked Jack much more curiously
"Well, this broken Kid-320G is called Liz!! My goodness!! Stupid girl, gives names to robo toys and insists on us, following the naming conventions!! Stupid Ann"
"Oh!! Liz fell down" exclaimed Jack, fixing the eyes
"Almost done there!! Ain't it?? Does it look like brand new one??"

"Yeah, except for this fracture point!! Everyone can tell out a poor welding from good one"
"Ha!! I think, I better get her a new one!! Should convince Ann" spoke I, just before Ann ran into the room! Silly girl was listening to our conversation from upstairs, eagerly waiting for us to complete operation restore on Liz
"Thanks Uncle Jack, Thanks Mr. Jeff" exclaimed a very happy Ann. Ann is good girl with great mannerisms, always happy attitude except for her madness in concluding every robo as human!! She feels robo's must be loved!! My foot!!
"So, is Ann happy now?? Does Liz want a chocolate??" sang Jack, in his sing-song voice , playing with Ann
"Why don't you throw Liz away and take a new one? Liz has a ugly scar, see!!" I said, bending over to show the scar!!
"Ha!! Mr. Jeff, Liz is happy this way!! The scar hurts and pains Liz!! Liz wants me!! Please don't throw her out!!" requested Ann with her huge cute eyes!!
"Whatever!!:"
--x--

So you feel Ann loves robots?? What do you feel like?? Want to read some of my entries for other flash fiction challenges? Please do go through the same here:

Write A Letter Wednesday!!

Hello Everyone,

This post is in response to Write a Letter Wednesdays held by Joise on her blog.  The concept is simple, Joise gives the theme for the letter (which usually is very generic *Giggles*) and we are supposed to write a letter!!!

This weeks theme is to give advise in the letter!! So here is my letter

--x--
Dear Annie,

Happy to listen from you after long long time. High school was really very very cool and I enjoyed it like hell only coz of you and your never fading smile

I was thinking about what you said the other day, I am still deeply pained due to the issue. You know why, I always listen to you?? You know why, I still didn't forget your DOB?? You are a girl, who smiles often, tries to be happy in company of others, tries to help everyone out and share happiness with everyone!!

Helping everyone and being good to all!! Is that the problem you are having?? Is John breaking up because you are social and care for everyone?? I think, he is damn stupid!! Curse him!! I can only imagine the pain you are going through!! I can understand how hard it would be for you and can't think what your heart will say, the next time you are trying to help someone out!!

All I gotta request you, All I gotta advise you is to be yourself!! Changing yourself now is not gonna help anyway!! So, simply forget everything and keep on loving everyone!! Have faith!! Keep smiling!!

with warm regards
XXXX

--x--

So?? Is the letter good?? Are you able to understand the concept?? Is it good?? Let me know!! I lost the habit of writing letters long after my high school thanks to the chat and instant message options available online!!

Readers of my blog, do you think that I write for praise?? My question after every blog post is the same "DID YOU LIKE IT??" *Scratching my bald head* Is something wrong with me??

The Favorite Book Challenge Blogfest!

This post is in response to the Favorite Book Challenge Blogfest on Writer's Journey!!Well, I am not the right one to enter this challenge for, I read a hell lot of books (Just like you all, my awesome readers) and my preferences change everytime!! Ha Ha!!

The rules in this blogfest are quite simple and are as follows:
  • Pick your top five favorite books
  • Between Jun 20 and 22, write one line of what each book is about and then write one line of why you liked it. Think of it like a twitter pitch for other people’s work. Semi-colons are cheating, but you can use them anyway
  •  Go to other blogs and discuss the book
  • If you do not keep a blog, put your challenge in the comments on the day of the event.

In simple words, write the log-line of given book!! You can learn a lot about writing log-lines here. So now, the toughest part is to choose my favorite books.

LONE SURVIVOR:
"When Marcus Luttrell, the man who survived hell week, to become a NAVY SEAL, was sent on a recon mission to capture / kill a Taliban member believed close to Osama Bin Laden, is tracked and hunted by a hundreds of taliban warriors who are tipped by a shepherd whom Marcus and his team spared due to human and/or ROE considerations, he comes back to tell the tale of how he alone survived due to sacrifices made by his team THE SEAL 10 & the kindness of the Pashtuns"

ScareCrow:

Will the richest military-industry complex succeed in  the bounty hunt  it started  to destroy the twelve targets who can dis-arm missiles and stop a century of destruction, wherein the destruction is about to be started and  is done under disguise of war against terrorism i.e. response to clone missile attacks against all major nations of the world??

Well, I think I made a shitty job!!! I just dunno!! I think I covered all the details but did really bad bad job!! Tell me what you feel?? Have you read this booK??? And I take the liberty to  post about the other three books tomorrow!!

Maghook - Catpain ScareCrow

Captain Shane M. Schofield, USMC is a fictional character, whose exploits form the basis of a series created by the Australian author, Matthew Reilly. He appears in Ice Station, Area 7, Scarecrow and the spin off Hell Island. While the plot differs from novel to novel, it is mainly based around Schofield's legendary reputation as a Marine, revered by the Marines that serve under his command and known for his high-risk tactical maneuvers.

As per the series, Maghook is the signature weapon of USMC. Our hero always finds Maghook as a life saving implement and a equally dangerous weapon. A Maghook was a combined grappling hook and high-powered magnet - the signature weapon of Marine Recon Units primarily used while scaling heights, hanging from ceilings, .... A Maghook has a maximum rope length of a hundred and fifty feet. The  famous Armalite MH-12 Maghook comes with a grappling hook which also contained a high powered magnet for adhesion to sheer metallic surfaces.

The "Harbour Bridge" was a legendary Maghook trick. Two people fired two oppositely charged Maghooks in such a way that the two hooks hit in midair and stuck together. It was named after the Sydney Harbour Bridge, the famous Australian landmark that was built from opposite sides of Sydney Harbour, two separate arcs that ultimately met in the middle. Schofield had seen a number of Marines try it.

Do you think, that Maghook can become a dangerous weapon?? Can a maghook become signature weapon to one of the most advanced special forces of the world??

What are such weapons which you saw only in science fiction series? Do they inspire real life weaponry??  Any examples??

ONE MORE!!!

Hello Everyone,

How is life going on?? Hope everyone is enjoying!! Well, this weekend is kind of boring to me, but still enjoying!!!

Everyone remembers the scene in "The day after tomorrow?" when, the Dennis Quaid recalls how his young son behaved as a child??  While he Sela Ward are waiting for the call? Recall it here:

--x--
Sam and I went with my sister.
You were in Alaska...

...doing research on your doctorate.

Remember what he was like
when he was that age?

Everything was "one more."

One more bedtime story. One more ride
on my shoulders. "One more, Daddy."
--x--

My life now is very similar. After the exams, in the first week of this month, everything is one more!!

One more lazy day, One more party, One more reason to become glutton, One more late night, One more nap, One more ....

Hope one day, I would start working hard!! And I would change my day into One more novel, One more 1000 words milestone, One more book to read, One more blog post to be published, ...

Ha!! What is your memorable quote from that movie??? You liked anything in it???

Desert Eagle -- My Dream Weapon

The Desert Eagle is a  very popular  hand-gun which is renowned for its accuracy, power , reliability in battle-field and high effective range among hand-guns. A typical hand-gun has a range of 30-35 yards whereas desert eagle has a maximum effective  range of 200 meters (Mark XIX version).

Desert Eagle, Desert Eagle Pistol
Desert Eagle
The Desert Eagle is a large-framed gas-operated semi-automatic pistol designed by Magnum Research in the U.S., and manufactured primarily in Israel by IMI (Israel Military Industries, now Israel Weapon Industries). The Desert Eagle has been featured in roughly 500 motion pictures and TV films.

Desert Eagle -- Cartoon
The Desert Eagle uses a gas-operated mechanism normally found in rifles. Unlike most such pistols, the barrel does not move during firing. When a round is fired, gases are ported out through a small hole in the barrel near the breech. These travel forward through a small tube under the barrel, to a cylinder near the front of the barrel. The separate bolt carrier/slide has a small piston on the front that fits into this cylinder; when the gases reach the cylinder they push the piston rearward. The bolt carrier rides rearward on two rails on either side of the barrel, operating the mechanism. Its rotating bolt strongly resembles that of the M16 series of rifles, while the fixed gas cylinder/moving piston resemble those of the Ruger Mini-14 carbine (the original patent used a captive piston similar to the M14 rifle).

Golden Desert Eagle, Desert Eagle
Golden Desert Eagle
Switching a Desert Eagle to another chamber  requires only that the correct barrel, bolt assembly, and magazine be installed. Thus, a conversion to fire the other cartridges can be quickly accomplished. The Desert Eagle is fed with a detachable magazine. Magazine capacity is 9 rounds in .357 Magnum, 8 rounds in .44 Magnum, and 7 rounds in .50 AE. The Desert Eagle's barrel features polygonal rifling. The pistol is mainly used for hunting, target shooting, and silhouette shooting.
Desert Eagle is my favorite weapon I don't posses one. I plan to buy it someday for my personal collection. What is yours?? You prefer assault rifles or pistols??

The Man Inside

Hello Everyone,

I was fortunate enough, the other day, to enjoy my favorite movie X-men, Wolverine, without interruptions of any sort. Well, I always wanted to watch the movie and was interrupted many a times due to various reasons.

What was special about the movie? I was big fan of the cartoon series X-men. I just loved it then and am quite enthusiastic to find the origin of the series and the cinema version of the story, of course. Why do you think, the movie is quite a big hit???
The movie had everything needed including great plot, great characters that catch our imagination and keep us amused all the time. Cool names viz storm, cyclops, rouge, wolverine, magneto...!!

The most important reason, though the characters are mutants (kind of super - heroes), have their share of problems. Mutants weren't portrayed as superheroes for whom, the sky is the limit. They weren't shown as all intelligent, omni-present, bigger than life, flawless, ...

They had their share of problems. Mutants faced some of them, sometimes ran away from them. Just like humans. They didn't know how to handle some of their problems. Didn't know how to face the humans who hated them, who feared them.

Yet, they showed heroism whenever required. They plotted evil when necessary and tried to take the revenge (case of Magneto)!! In simple words, due to all these traits, all of us, could identify ourselves with the characters at some level or the other right? Do you think, this is the reason behind their success?? Do you think, we too must be aware of this factor while writing a book?? What is your view??

Making a Disciple of yourself

Hello Everyone,

Hope your weekend went really well and godspeed to you for the week ahead. Well, mine was kind of excellent. Parting, Enjoying and Sneaking out under the nose of my oldman.

Well, yesterday was my first visit to RamaKrishna Math, a human resource development center with intention to develop myself (personality development). Well, it was kinda very very cool.

The speaker on the dais, was speaking about discipline and was saying "Self - Discipline is the art, in which we become  a disciple of  ourselves." Well, though the statement is catchy by nature, I didn't really like it much. I just want to share the salient features in the art of disciplining ourselves with everyone around. They are:
  • Awareness: Being aware, of our goals, our ambitions and our current status.
  • Coming out of Comfort Zone: By running that extra mile
  • Working Hard: Consciously working hard
  • Time Management: Remembering that our days are numbered and our life must be lived to fullest.
  • Perseverance: Never quit irrespective of anything else.
These are the five principles needed to discipline ourselves. The reason, I liked the speaker is very very simple. He speaks to us, people who need motivation and not for machines / already motivated men. He touches your heart, by citing examples, by using good use of speaking aids (presentation/video..)

Gotta learn a lot from this man, about oration. Well, I hope you all know about my goals. I am gonna come out of my comfort zone from today!! BanZai!! It means, more regular posting on the blog!! BanZai!!

What do you feel, about the definition of discipline?? Do you think the speaker is cool?? What are your goals and how do you think, you shall go forward?? Do let me know please!! For I am in bad bad need of motivation!!

Today’s life

Unknown if men are from lord of war.
Young men, to be true, wage wars
for the fancy of swords, powder & horses
alike, but not for the want of fame or horses.

Unknown if women are from Venus.
To be true, beauty is not theirs,
its in men, theirs only mate
as can’t be learnt by them, to their fate.

Hearts of men, on which the nations
fate hangs, desperately need companions
to be comforted, unlike money, that brings
common needs in the form of material things.

Modern life is a world of ready wealth,
with spontaneous wisdom breathed by health.
Lost are true friends, who today only, exist in prose
& can’t between them, stand the differences which arose.

Doll Heads!! Beauty in broken things???

Hello Everyone,

After long long time, I am participating in one more of those awesome blog-fests / flash fiction challenges. This one is by TerribleMinds.com. The concept is simple. Write a thousand word fiction story, after soaking in the inspiration the prompt gives us. Well, the prompt is the beautiful picture of the doll heads here.

I am currently reading the "MAN and SUPERMAN" by George Bernard Shaw. So my fiction is influenced by the style of George Bernard Shaw. I hope, the influence on style can be overlooked. Here is my fiction:

--x--

ANN. What a shocking flirt you are, Jack!

TANNER. A flirt!! I!!

ANN. Yes, a flirt. You are always abusing and offending people, but you never really mean to let go your hold of them.

TANNER: Please do make your accusation clear. Where on this earth, have I offended anyone my dear lady

ANN: Don't call me that. Annie [she said, pouting at TANNER]

TANNER: Not so easy. Someone has pounded sound mannerisms into me. I am sorry.

ANN: What do you mean by, beauty is in the eye of beholder and people are ashamed to enjoy beauty of something that has a defect?

TANNER: What can I tell you, my lady. Look at the doll heads here.

ANN: Ha, what on the earth are these broken heads doing here?

TANNER: Sorry my lady. They aren't broken. They are new. I need to work on them, a lot, to make them into dolls.

ANN: And sell them, one penny a piece???

TANNER: No, No. God is merciful on me. It is a pastime of mine. This is one of arts.

ANN: Jack?? Arts?? Arts are paintings, music and dance. Why don't we go for a dance.

TANNER: Not yet my lady. Art is the profession of creating something beautiful out of nothing, out of everything commonplace and out of imagination. My lady, no child loves a baby doll, made out of gold, but has no beauty, has no chubby cheeks, has no rosy lips and has no blue eyes.  . What once were dolls of beauty & joy, once broken, become trash, fit to be thrown away and nothing else.  What went wrong, I ask, in continuing to derive pleasure and continuing to play with a broken doll?
Why are we ashamed of our own kids when they play with broken doll?? Doesn't kid have any emotional attachment towards the doll? Should we forcibly send it to trash and without the knowledge / consent of the kid? Beauty is in commonplace. In these so called stupid, old, useless, idiotic, broken, not good looking baby doll heads, though if I may say, is nothing compared to your beauty

ANN: [Flushing] thank you

TANNER: [Completing the doll on which he
is working], if I may, young lady, a small token of gratitude for your pleasant company [kneels and offers the doll in his hand]

ANN: My pleasure, I would like to leave, with your consent

TANNER: Though I wish, you stay back, my lady, it is time for your meal. A cab awaits you and my parlormaid shall show you the way.

--x--

Well, I know it is kinda short. But, I guess it is fine with 375 words or so. What is your opinion about the story? Do you think, we should enjoy the beauty of something broken, even when I can afford a new one?? Should I snatch something away from a kid, just because it is broken / has a flaw??

Save me from my Greatest Happiness

Hello Everyone,

I have recently come across the book "Man and Superman" by George Bernard Shaw. A four act drama based on Don Juan theme.

Don't ask me what is Don Juan theme. I dunno too. I just loved the book. It is humorous and is a comedy in character. Here is a small excerpt from the drama:

A dialogue between Mr. Tanner (aka Jack) and Mr. Octavius (aka Tavy).  Both the gentlemen love a girl and for a bizarre reason, Mr. Tanner becomes the co-guardian of the girl whom he loves. Here comes the excerpt:

--x--
TANNER: Don't, Tavy: you'll make me ill. I am not a man of honor: I am a man struck down by a dead hand. Tavy: you must marry her after all and take her off my hands. And I had set my heart on saving you from her!

OCTAVIUS: Oh, Jack, you talk of saving me from
my highest happiness.

TANNER: Yes, a lifetime of happiness. If it were only the first half hour's happiness, Tavy, I would buy it for you with my last penny. But a lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it: it would be hell on earth.
--x--

What do you guys say?? Is a lifetime of happiness a bane in itself?? Will you keep yourself away from lifetime of happiness? Will you shun your face on your lover for this reason? Will you run away from a fortune for this reason?

The book also has some thoughts to reflect, some insights to give us. For example have a look at this except: A dialog between Mr. Ramsden and Mr. Tanner between whom the relationships are not very sweet:

--x--
RAMSDEN [very deliberately] Mr Tanner: you are the most impudent person I have ever met.

TANNER.
[seriously] I know it, Ramsden. Yet even I cannot wholly conquer shame. We live in an atmosphere of shame. We are ashamed of everything that is real about us; ashamed of ourselves, of our relatives, of our incomes, of our accents, of our opinions, of our experience, just as we are ashamed of
our naked skins. Good Lord, my dear Ramsden, we are ashamed to walk, ashamed to ride in an omnibus, ashamed to hire a hansom instead of keeping a carriage, ashamed of keeping one horse instead of two and a groom-gardener instead of a coachman and footman. The more things a man is ashamed of, the more respectable he is. Why, you're ashamed to buy my book, ashamed to read it: the only thing you're not ashamed of is to judge me for it without having read it; and even that only means that you're ashamed to have heterodox opinions. Look at the effect I produce because my fairy godmother withheld from me this gift of shame.
--x--

Well, this is true. We are ashamed to use a bike / public transport when we can afford a car. We are ashamed to be called miser. Aren't we?? Well, kinda yes. Let me know how you feel about it.
