What to do??

Hello Everyone,

Today, I am gonna post from the book "Bourne Identity". It is a  novel by Robert Ludlum, where in a young man, injured, without memory tries to find out his identity battling all the time chased by men who don't want him to be alive. I actually never completed the book but here is the favorite quote of mine from it.
Money Bag - Cartoon

Jason Bourne: Who has a safety deposit box full of... money and six passports and a gun? Who has a bank account number in their hip? I come in here, and the first thing I'm doing is I'm catching the sight-lines and looking for an exit.
Marie: I see the exit sign, too, I'm not worried. I mean, you were shot. People do all kinds of weird and amazing stuff when they are scared.

Jason Bourne: I can tell you the license plate numbers of all six cars outside. I can tell you that our waitress is left-handed and the guy sitting up at the counter weighs two hundred fifteen pounds and knows how to handle himself. I know the best place to look for a gun is the cab of the gray truck outside, and at this altitude, I can run flat out for a half mile before my hands start shaking. Now why would I know that? How can I know that and not know who I am?
Fit to Fat

Here is my question.. Please do take time to answer. Today, you are a obese, writer trying to realize the goal of becoming immortal by becoming the next JK / Amand Hocking. Tomorrow
you wake up early in the morning to find out that your safe in home is filled with six passports, ample ammo, ample money and you became athletic and seems to be a master in some mysterious martial arts!!!

First things first, I would fire the weapon for sure. Show off to some of my friends. I would probably disappear from the surface of earth for two - three months and re-surface to ensure that I reclaim my life in this new physique convincing everyone that I used some medical therapy to obtain this physique. I will surely use the money for some comforts and pay off some debts!! Ha Ha!!

Ha Ha!!  You are free to answer the question here or on your blog. If you are posting about the same on your blog, don't forget to give the link to me!! I would visit every blog on 6th of this month and award someone with BEST ANSWER based on reply, response and lot more!!

A-Z blogfest, My daily life

Hello Everyone,

There are two things about which I wanna blog. About the A - Z Blogfest and about how my daily life is gonna be from now on. I am turning into new leaf, to live my dreams, by putting hell lot of efforts.

For the A-Z blogfest, I decided what I must do. I will choose a book a day, so that I have 26 books, whose names do start with A - Z. Extract a very very good  quote / excerpt from it, and blog on it. That way, I am sure, I have 26 ideas and that I won't give up the challenge of writing 26 posts.
In case, you don't know about the A-Z blogfest, please do find out more about it here and participate in it. Alex J. Cavanaugh, who is hosting the blog, is also giving out cool tips for the blog-fest on his blog.

And about my life? Ha. I always decide, I am a new leaf from today, and things go the same way. For example, after posting my goals on this blog yesterday, I exercised a little, but didn't maintain diet. I became a glutton by 5 pm !! Ha , well, better luck today.

But going through the Winners Stand Alone, by Paulo Chelho, I was amazed and got a sense of reality. The winners in that book, weren't conjured out of thin air, thanks to Paulo Chelho, I understood that Winners strive hard, spend sleepless nights on the way to success, work like workaholics and there is lot more than talent and dreams.

People say, Genius is 1% inspiration  and 99% perspiration right? I don't need that inspiration, it is inside me I believe so my dreams and the rewards are themselves a inspiration all I need to do now is put efforts, work hard, with tireless enthusiasm and endless zeal. Gotcha!! I will be a big man one day!!

Well, why am I blogging about all this? Simple, I would like to brag about myself and am sure, that I can keep focused when I write down something on paper here blog and when people encourage me and when someone reminds me as soon as I am going off - track!! Ha Ha!! Why do you blog? Does my reasoning sound good?

And, I am not putting ample efforts into my novel these days, so with remorse and guilt in heart, I decided to give up the Ninja badge and claim it back once I am happy with the efforts I put. Sorry Ali!!

Success -- Efforts -- Goals

Hello Everyone,

How many of us imagined success?? How many of us wanted to be famous, rich, popular? Who doesn't? I have, with all my heart, I wanted to be a millionaire .. better say billionaire. I imagined I would build mansions for myself, Even now I am seeing how the mansion would look like. Not everyone, really achieves them all. The reasons?

Everyone, knows, we are not working hard to achieve them, not putting efforts, not working consciously with targets in view and hell lot. But we can change, it is possible. I can put efforts right? Yeah, I can.

I was going through the Winner Stands Alone the other day, a book describing about the world of fame, glamor, success, hardwork and all such. So I want to chalk out a hell lot of goals, put my ambitions on paper with time frame and deadlines. I wanna do it all.

Here is list of all that I am gonna do from now on
  • Atleast one hour of exercise per day, principally consisting of jogging or brisk walking
  • Maintaining a strict diet regime, in which I don't make a glutton of myself
  • Putting 250 words per day on paper, into my WIP
  • Posting 5 times a week on blogs
  • Reading at least 1000 words per day of any novel got recommendations, let me know
  • Work for two hours per day, to improve my qualifications, skill sets and all such for my day job
  • Read pledge everyday and if needed modify the same to remind myself of my dreams and the efforts I need to put.
  • Shall use a dairy to keep focused on my goals and shall blog about them every now and then.
  • Stop wasting time on TV, FB, online, SMS, flirting, ...

Thanks for putting up with me and reading all along. Got any suggestions for me??

Harry Potter BlogFest

Everyone, Here is a rather interesting Blog Fest. The title itself is Harry Potter Blog Fest from the In Time. The concept is simple. ll you have to do is choose which two characters would be YOUR best mates at Hogwarts. You can use any student characters from any book. After you choose your mates, then, all you have to do is write a fun little piece on why and what kind of trio would you be. It's that easy.

Well, My mates would be

Katie Bell,
All accidents happen around us!!! Brave, stands for right (read what she thinks is right), gives chance to all to show their skill and talent. Never believes in favoritism.

Neville LongBottom:
Has hidden talent, which comes up when needed. Is interested in herbology and rises to the need of hour (acts as interim leader in absence of harry in seventh year at Hogwarts)

and what would I be?? Probably Dacro Malfroy!! Ha Ha, just kidding, I love to be one of the twins (Weasley Twins) myself.

Here is my entry, showing how cool a trio we are, for this entry, I call myself OldMan and the three of us are Death Eaters!! (Ohhhhhh!!!...)

"Hello OldMan, whats up?" inquired Nevilee
"Nothing much!! Just brooding over how to improve our ranks"
"OldMan. Why don't you come up with something? Now that Master is free, why don't we create terror?" said, a pepped up Neville

"Ha!! remember, Master is not free. The ministry doesn't acknowledge him alive yet. We must not reveal ourselves" warned Kaite

"I know the right thing to do, the next Yule-Ball, is around. Why don't we?" "Ha, something grand, kill a Mud-Blood?" Kaite interrupted me.

"Nah!! Let all girls kiss their partners under curse?" hinted Neville from the corner of his eye.

"Yeah, not bad, but I am still worried about our plans for the Master" spoke an apprehensive Kaite

"All the muggles on whom we performed the Imperious curse are now behaving well. Our plan is simple from first, put identified muggles under curse, make them polite, gentle , perfect citizen, lovers, caring brothers and kill them at appropriate time" an animated Nevilee started recollecting the plot for our benefit for a thousandth time.

"The muggles are identified such that their losses would be very very hard to digest for the Muggles and for the Whizarding community!! ha ha Ha" rang my voice. Blimey Am I so evil?

"How would it be, if we revealed our Animal forms, once we play our part in the Ball?" wondered Kaite

"That's fine. Just imagine, how sinister the plot becomes, once we let the wizards know that we killed the Muggles, that we brought the muggles close to wizards just to take them away forever!! This is absolute Physiological Warfare!! ha ha" grinned Nevilee with joy

"Imagine surprise of Dumbledore, when they understand that we are taking the war to new dimensions, Imagine how Harry would feel when he looses his aunt and his cousin, Imagine how pleased our master would be and how our ranks would rise?"

"You remember those twins, who left the school the other day? They are famous for creating fun stuff right? Let's too create something, a perfume!" suggested Kaite

"Want to be hawker?" retorted Neville
"Well, the seemingly harmless perfume, shall consists of those neurotoxins which in long run, would abate the reflexes, intelligence and reasoning of wizards, here Aurors" spoke Kaite to herself

3d perfume bottle, 3d bottle holding perfume, perfume bottle,
Cartoon Perfume Bottle
"My goodness, kaite, we would all try to make that idea a success but should also ensure, that none of the death eaters are effected by the perfume" warned Neville

"How good it would be, when the entire wizarding community would be terrorized by us and no aurors to protect them. How would wizards react when they know, that their aurors are dimwits, simpletons and fit for nothing doofers. Would they be able to sleep? Would they dare to cross our paths?" asked I, thinking about the consequences of the plot.

Hope you guys liked my plot! Hey, I know you are all authors, can I ask you a favor? I just dunno how to write dialogue! People are speaking in the above extract aren't they? Am I showing it / telling it? How do I stop sentences and let my reader know who spoke? I frequently use the words "wondered Kaite / grinned Neville / spoke OldMan / stated Neville / hinted Neville" to tell to readers about the speaker.

Is that fine? Or should I do something else?? Just let me know!!

Random Joke

I earlier posted a cool excerpt from Winners Stand Alone by Paulo Coelho on my other blog here. I simply am loving it, for it is related to reality of the world of fame and power. I am sure, every aspiring author / artist must go through this book. Here is a simple joke from the book, Just have a look at it:

Introduction to joke:
Igor, a Russian millionaire is talking to a girl who wants to become a actress.

"It's lovely here! Do you know why God decided to rest on the seventh day?"
Igor doesn't understand the question, but she proceeds to explain anyway:
"Because on the seventh day, before he'd finished work and left the world in a perfect state for human beings,  a group of producers from Hollywood came over to him and said: `Don't you worry about the rest! We'll take  care of providing the Technicolor sunset, the special storm effects, the perfect lighting, and the right sound  equipment so that whenever Man hears the waves, he'll think it's the real sea!' Mouse and SeaGull

Hello Everyone,

I earlier posted a cool excerpt from Winners Stand Alone by Paulo Coelho the other day. I simply am loving it, for it is related to reality of the world of fame and power. I am sure, every aspiring author / artist must go through this book. Here is another excerpt from the book, Just have a look at it:

seagull, seagull cartoon, cartoon seagull, seagull bird
A seagull was flying over a beach, when it saw a mouse. It flew down and asked the mouse:
“Where are your wings?”

Each animal speaks its own language, and so the mouse didn’t understand the question, but stared at the two strange, large things attached to the other creature’s body.
“It must have some illness,” thought the mouse.
mouse, mouse cartoon, mouse

The seagull noticed the mouse staring at its wings and thought:
“Poor thing. It must have been attacked by monsters that left it deaf and took away its wings.”

Feeling sorry for the mouse, the seagull picked it up in its beak and took it for a ride in the skies. “It’s probably homesick,” the seagull thought while they were flying. Then, very carefully, it deposited the mouse once more on the ground.

mountains, hills, landscapte
For some months afterward, the mouse was sunk in gloom; it had known the heights and seen a vast and beautiful world. However, in time, it grew accustomed to being just a mouse again and came to believe that the miracle that had occurred in its life was nothing but a dream.

Hope you guys loved it. I too am like that mouse, though no seagull can lift me up I weight about 200 pounds in all Ha Ha, I too saw the dreams of becoming great author, great blogger, rich, famous, having the world at my feet and lot more!!!

I didn't realize the dreams yet, but my lethargic attitude many a times tells me, to start getting accustomed to being just a mouse again, to tell myself, that I am not the next J. K. Rowling / Amanda Hocking and that I should just go back to my day job.

Whatever, I still wanna write, still wanna read and still wanna enjoy. My life, My wish right?? But surely one day, I will fly high like a eagle, and everyone around me (read including you)shall envy me!! Ha Ha!!!

How does your world look like?? From the heights? How beautiful it is? What makes it so beautiful?

Paint It Purple BlogFest

Hello Everyone,

The concept of the blog-fest is to
1) Post a short segment (a paragraph or two, really no more than 100 words) of your work-in-progress.
2) Paint it purple with enough metaphors, similes, and poetry to gag the most die hard beatnik. Feel free to run wild, spitting in the face of good taste, genre norms, and Occam's razor.

So here is my entry:

“Oye tell me more. How does a girl choose a boy? You girls have some algorithm to do it?”
Hmmm… No .. ”
“I know I know the answer Iva, girls choose the richest boy available. Right?”
“Shut up.”
“Please tell me re. Even Vinay was not a right match for Ammu
as per me. She chose him.”
“Oye … It’s a girl thing you won’t understand.”

Here is my part two!! Hope you guys love it  :-)

“You there?” was the message of Nami after a waiting period of about twenty minutes
“No…   :-p     :-p”
“Silly fellow.”
“Oye tell me more. How does a girl choose a boy re? You girls have some algorithm to do it?”
“Yeah, First Come First Serve or Randomly pick one or The worst man available or the Most handsome man or …??”
“I know I know the answer Iva, girls choose the richest boy available. Right?”
“Shut up. It is not like that.”
“Please tell me re. Even Vinay was not a right match for Ammu as per me. She chose him. Why on the earth girls have such poor taste.”
“Oye … It’s a girl thing you won’t understand.”
“Ha … trying to give an excuse?”
“Whatever …    :-p   :-p”
“Overheard some conversation between a couple here. The lad told the lass about his first love and how this lass became his true love. Lass little sad and saying never tell that to me. You don’t know how it hurts. It’s a girl thing”
“Idiot. You making fun of me!!!! I won’t chat anymore.”
“Are nami, come on, It was for fun. You said girl’s thing. So just started. I don’t understand what you mean by it.”
“Tell sorry first. Ten times”
“Sorry Nami, Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry Sorry”
“Never do that again!!!    :-p”
“As you say ……. 0;-). You don’t know to count? I told sorry nine times only! Ha Ha”
“Get lost”

When, I read about the blogfest, I was not sure if I can create an entry for it!!! I remember I hesitated to sign up!! Probably this is not cool entry for the fest, but do let me know how you feel about my entry??? In mean time, I would check upon entries of everyone else!!

Boiling Frogs??? Are We???

Hello Everyone, I picked up my copy of  Winners Stand Alone by Paulo Coelho the other day. I love Paulo for his work Alchemist and now one more book, on the price to be paid for dreams!! I haven't completed the same yet, but loved it a lot. Here is a small excerpt from the book, a conversation between a millionaire and a street hawker (young, beautiful and appealing) whom the millionaire would like to kill!!
“Do you know anything about frogs?”

“Yes, various biological studies have shown that if a frog is placed in a container along with water from its own pond, it will remain there, utterly still, while the water is slowly heated up. The frog doesn’t react to the gradual increase in temperature, to the changes in its environment, and when the water reaches the boiling point, the frog dies, fat and happy.
“On the other hand, if a frog is thrown into a container full of already boiling water, it will jump straight out again, scalded, but alive!”

Olivia doesn’t quite see what this has to do with the destruction of the world. Igor goes on:
“I was like that boiled frog. I didn’t notice the changes. I thought everything was fine, that the bad things would just go away, that it was just a matter of time. I was ready to die because I lost the most important thing in my life, but, instead of reacting, I sat there bobbing apathetically about in water that was getting hotter by the minute.”

I just dunno anything about the research and frogs, but Wikipedia says, a part of this is true. I wanna ask a question, are we also like the frogs?

We have dreams, we want something to come true, we understand the gap between our dreams and reality and still strive to achieve the dreams. But slowly, without our knowledge, in our daily lives and in the race for survival, are small changes overlooked? If the changes are gradual enough, do we loose focus on our goals and get completely involved with present life till one fine day, we understand, that we lost our chances, we can't run behind our dreams anymore and all we are left with is "unaccomplished goals"
Simple example, you are athletic by physique and intend to build a six pack body to reach the next stage. But you are software programmer with moderate pay and heavy work, always sitting in office, working in some or the other project and attending god dammed meetings, and though you know you are loosing your fitness, nothing can be done! Slowly Slowly you turn into pot belly...

So just have a thought about the same, prioritize your dreams and keep going!!

Second Crusader Challenge

This post is in response to the Second Crusader Challenge by Rachael Harrie I am not crusader yet.  The concept is quite simple, write a flash fiction story (in any format) in 100 words or less, excluding the title. Begin the story with the words, “The goldfish bowl teetered” These four words will be included in the word count.

I am posting my entry here, Just have a look at it and let me know how you feel about it.

The goldfish bowl teetered at the edge, as I was watching, helplessly.

I am in pain, intense pain, thanks to the gunmen My body is now torn apart and any moment now could be my last. Everything around me is still as stone and I wanted to shout to swat team to save the bowl, but the voice isn’t coming.

I am uncertain, if I would be loved after all, if I will be shown pity and sympathy. I wonder if I will be given proper burial and can't imagine how my last photograph would be. I am terror.

Also let me know what you think about the character in the story. I am a newbie and I just wanna check if I conveyed my message well!! Ha Ha!!

Let me remind you all, becoming crusader is easy and helps everyone out a lot. Concept of crusaders is simple, a hell lot of writers & bloggers support each other by connecting with each other , making comments, participating in blog fests and other contests, and helping to promote their new friends. And ofcourse, you can find lot of help if you are a writer.

My Dad's Job

Hello everyone,

I just missed the hone your skills blogfest's deadline. I was actually little busy all day yesterday and couldn't complete this post. Ha, can't help now!! I am posting the entry here anyway!! Just have fun!!

"Hello Mr. Richards, How do you do?" inquired Ms. Maria, class teacher of my seven year old.

"Hello Ms. Maria, Everything is pretty good, of late. How do you do?" responded I, with my ever ready 70mm smile.

"By his grace, everything is fine. I would like to speak with you about your son, regarding his assignment the other day"

"Oh!! Hope, he is not troubling you! By the way, how are his grades doing?"
"Nothing serious, we were all amazed when he wrote this" saying which, she handed over his assignment

After reading the assignment, I excused myself very awkwardly and started to my home. I wanted an explanation for this.

I remember that day very well, I was little upset about my banking service and shouted over my mobile with my banker

"Dad, May I ask you something?" He approached with timidness in him. I was awestruck. My son, afraid of me?
"Ha, John, come to dadda, what do you want? A chocolate?" I spoke, handing him a chocolate.
John, changed back to the same, naughty devil, which he always is. Forgot to say thanks. He fought with me to take the chocolate into his hands and started savoring it. I just noticed, the pad and the paper he brought with him.
"So what does John want?"
"Dad, my teacher asked me what you do?"

"Okay! Now what does dad do?"
"Mom says, you are good man and you feed the doggie.
You play with me and give me chocolates" Said John, biting deeper into the Chocolate. My goodness, My son doesn't know anything about how great his dad is. Ha!!!
"Okay, I live for charity. Is that answer okay for you John?"
"No, I need fibe read five sentences furl read for my assignment"

"Oh, Assignment?? *nods* So John, I will tell you story, My story! Come to me I pulled him near when I was small, like you, I didn't know what to do. As I grew up, I was a bad boy. I always wanted chocolates and cried a lot! You are good boy right? just a nod, its due to chocolate As I kept on growing up, I didn't know what I want to become, I had to choose a career. People like to categorize everyone into engineers / doctors / masons .. and put them into boxes. I didn't like them, I was special, out of box.

I grew up into big fat stupid looking guy. I decided I want to become a prince. So I worked hard, learnt lot of skills and started loving people around. I decided I will set up a charity organization and live for it. So I set up a organization called WhiteBeard, where me, mom and many other people work and make lives of people happy. We help those who are in need.

We play a lot, we talk a lot, we help each other a lot and live like a family. They are all my sons and daughters!! We do disaster management stuff, we take care of lost doggies, we send donations to lot of people all around the world. Grap used to say, I waste all money, but I am happy this way."

"Dad, I want another chocolate, It is for Ben"
"Who is Ben? I didn't meet him till now??"
"Ben is my imaginary friend. His mom is asking him to do his homework now. Once he comes to play with me, I will give the chocolate"
"Oh!! first complete your chocolate. Take these two, share them with Ben" I told, handing him another two chocolates.

And why on the good dammed earth, did my son write "My dad probably had no home, he said he lived out of box. Dad's English is bad and calls home as box. My dad wasted all his money as per Grap and lives on charity. He has lot of sons and daughters whom I never meet! He feeds the doggie because he has nothing else to do."

Hope you loved the same. Just go through other funny stories like these and let me know how you feel about them all.

Just a Joke

A young boy had just gotten his driving permit. He asked his father, who was a minister, if they could discuss his use of the car.

"I'll make a deal with you," said his father. "You bring your grades up, study your Bible a little, get your hair cut, and then we'll talk."

A month later the boy came back and again asked his father if they could discuss his use of the car.

"Son, I'm real proud of you. You've brought your grades up and you've studied your Bible, but you didn't get hair cut!"

"You know, Dad, I've been thinking about that. Samson had long hair, Moses had long hair, Noah had long hair, and even Jesus had long hair."

"Yes son, and they walked everywhere they went!"

The above joke is taken from "A Joke A Day" widget of my igoogle.  I don't claim any copyrights!! LOL!!

What is your favorite joke?? Ha??? Let me know!!!

2 tips for Writers

Hello Everyone,

It can look little funny that I am giving tips. Well, might be! I just intend to share all that I know and have some fun all the way!!! So here are the CatchyTips for writers today:

Everything Exists Behind Your back??
"Since I said so" is that the standard logic behind why half a dozen characters appeared at right place in right time in your WIP? Is that the reason why everyone in the story knows the background details of troubled characters even though they never shared? Well, then I think, you must stop writing fiction and design some cartoons!! No offense

I am big fan of Cartoon Network and the various cartoon shows they produce. One of the striking features around which cartoon shows are built is "Everything exists behind your back rule". Imagine, Tom chasing Jerry, Jerry takes a swift turn, Jerry takes out a hammer from a pocket and bangs Tom and starts running again.

Ha ha, I can understand how you would be laughing out loud now and yet wondering for a moment, where did that hammer come from? and then dismissing the thought saying, it is just a cartoon!! Do you want your book also thrown aside after being ridiculed by some critique?  In Cartoon Network, everything exists behind your back / inside your pocket from hammers to anvils to pianos to swords. Not in real world, not in novels. So just remember the rule whenever you are prompted to complete a story in hurry without developing the plot elaborately looking into all details.

Perfect Characters??
Ever wrote / read about characters with ample knowledge, right looks, right amount of luck, tons of money and perfect in anything else? (Not asking about prince / princess of your dreams). Such characters exist but don't allure audience. Yeah, you read it right!! They don't allure people around us.

Harry potter, could be like Draco Malfroy, rich, beautiful, famous, blah blah. Harry wasn't like that, he is just a normal boy and was like all of us. isn't he? Would Harry allure us all then? Would you have read the series twice had it been like that? I wouldn't have.

    Readers just don't read a character. They relate the characters and the traits to real people all around unless you are writing a cartoon / superhero sequel. Humans are not perfect in themselves, they have doubts, confusions, dreams, weakneses, strenghts and lot more. Every character in a book must have these traits and must depict someone among us.;

Any novel, can be summarized into a single page probably single paragraph if you are running low on stationary . The plots are all but a single idea. The plot can be simple or complex in nature, but the speciality of novel lies, in how the plot evolves, how the characters take part in it, how the plot is naratted, how hints are given here and there in form of sub-plots and how everything is linked together. Not in just hurrying up or not just in increasing the word count.

What have you got to say about this? Anyone contradicting me? Don't forget to have a look at Similar CatchyTips for writers on this blog
