Review ~ Pay Any Price

Hello Everyone,

   Reading any books of late? Keeping up to your new year resolution about book reading habit? Well, I have couldn't keep the book "Pay Any Price" down once I started. Here is a small review of the same. Hope it helps in choosing it as your next book.

   Pay Any Price by Ted Allbeury is by far the best novel I read when it comes to Action/espionage genre. Allbeury shows *and not tells* the life of an Intelligence officer(In this book, BOYD), the work involved, the risks, the dirty tricks, the trauma, the technology, the secrecy involved ... adding from his own experiences as a former officer in the British Intelligence Corps.

   The book revolves around CIA hypnosis experts Symons and Peterson who are involved in the killings of John F. Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy along with the CIA and the MAFIA mob.

 

    The experts decide to put stay in Britain under fake ids until the things back in US get cooled off. Carter *British Intelligence* discovers the men, their potential and their ways. Carter now successfully black-mails Ziggy *CIA boss* so as to gain co-operation of hypnosis experts. The experts using Zombies *people under hypnosis* kill a few spies, IRA, other trouble makers to safeguard their identities

   Gorge Walker *One of the Zombie, who killed spies under hypnosis* completes his term with the Army and starts searching for other career options. He starts having night-mares about the killings, can't remember a thing about his last year in service and all hell breaks loose.

   Debby Shaw, a former stripper, who now runs her own business also starts having night-mares and day-dreams. She is retained under section 72 involuntarily by the hospital and no one gets to know her fate, not even her boy-friend.

   When Boyd is assigned to look into the issue, by his officers at M15, he with help of his men and the psychiatrists understands the murky details about hypnosis, how the zombies are mentally abused, how the killings took place, how Carter and his team worked, how the Kennedy’s were killed,.. The book comes to end when Boyd meets his tragic fate due to his involving in the investigation.

   The book caught my attention neither due to plot nor the pace of plot. The book actually shows you the way how intelligence offices work, how intelligence agencies co-operate, how unlawful things can be done by section of powerful people in intelligence communities, how heads of various people in intelligence get chopped, how the mafia and CIA can co-operate, how the mafia take everything personal, how the life of James Bond would be, who would be right candidate for playing the James Bond, how men trained to believe none - trained to doubt check and verify everything live, how their personal lives are jeopardized by their life...

Learning Creative Writing -- From Book???

Hello Everyone,

  Kicked off the weekend? Keeping up with your new-year resolutions? Well I ain't. Ho Ho Ho! 

   Today I started got rejected by Constant Content. I wrote my first article for them and am rejected and the reason is GRAMMAR. I dunno where I go wrong. Hence started reading the book "CREATIVE WRITING: How to unlock your imagination, develop your writing skills - and get published" by Adele Ramet.

Fun on Phone

Good Morning Everyone,

     How has the week started? Having fun? Living upto your new-year-resolution lists or giving them a skip just like me??

    I just want some fun, I love fun all time, So I decided to send some cool messages to everyone out their on my mobile. The first thing I sent was

    "Good Morning buddy!! Have a blessed day!!! You are looking cool"

at around seven am yesterday. You wouldn't believe the responses I got. They ranged from "Where have you seen me?" to "I still didn't wake up. Do I look cool in my underpants? Let me sleep bro!!" to "Thanks .. that's so sweet of You". I could start a good humorous conversation with all those people who wanted to know when I saw them. Enjoyed about it.


    I wanted some more fun. So today I sent the message

    "This message can't be displayed"

  to everyone around. The responses were not as such cool as yesterday. There were requests to re-send the messages, to explain the messages, some of them were reporting to me that my message couldn't be displayed blah blah .. I just enjoyed doing so.

    I was surfing the net today to find out truth about some of the myths regarding the cartoons. The results are from Myth-Buster-Results

Happy New Year -- The Resolutions

Hello Everyone,

    Hope you rocked the new year eve and welcomed 2012 with happiness, joy, apprehension (about the good things about to happen), energetic spirit, confidence and all. So let me do wish you HAPPY NEW YEAR. 

    Now that the celebrations began with a bang, the resolutions I want to take are as follows. I would better say, they are the goals I would to achieve.

• I wanna get down on weight and come to a BMI of 21 or so. *This is the hardest one of them all*
• Complete a novel and get published too *Yeah, I believe it is possible*
• I wanna complete 8 more subjects in AMIE *My college*
• Wanna have great online presence and also start earning a steady stream of income online
• Prepare well for the few competitive exams I need to start taking after graduation
• Wanna earn my driving license, earn a lot for my college, for my horse riding classes, for my bike tour in and around KERELA, shave my head and live that way,  ....

what are your goals? What do intend to achieve them? Gonna change anything in your lifestyle? Do let me know .. I would be happy to listen to them all, support you and celebrate every milestone you cross during the path.
