Hello Everyone,
Kicked off the weekend? Keeping up with your new-year resolutions? Well I ain't. Ho Ho Ho!
Today I started got rejected by Constant Content. I wrote my first article for them and am rejected and the reason is GRAMMAR. I dunno where I go wrong. Hence started reading the book "CREATIVE WRITING: How to unlock your imagination, develop your writing skills - and get published" by Adele Ramet.
Here is a small excerpt form the book

Let me see how my writing improves overtime. I also intend to go through some grammar books. Got any? that can help me? Read any books on creative writing? Can suggest something cool for me?

Sorry about the rejection but bravo at looking at the reason and doing something about it. About grammar - suggest you go to a university bookstore and buy a grammar handbook students use. Topics will be indexed and explained so you can learn and cross-check as you continue your writing. Also, perhaps you could find a beta reader who's really good with grammar. Good luck! You can do this!
I'm sorry to hear about the rejection!
I can't think of any books on grammar off the top of my head--but as for creative writing, I recently read Character and Viewpoint by Orson Scott Card. It's detailed and very interesting.

I have three suggestions for you. All of them I do myself...all to become a better writer.
1. Join a writer's critique group or ask blogging friends to critique your work. You can learn so much from others.
2. Go to a used bookstore or online and order some high school or college text books to refresh your grammar and learn more about creative writing. Ex. Elements of Language.
3. Another great book is Self-Editing for Fiction Writers by Renne Brown.

The best and funniest book on punctation is Eats shoots and Leaves by Lynne Truss. Also try Oxford A-Z of Grammar and Punctuation [Paperback] Hope this helps turn your story around.
