Author Interview - Sybil Nelson

Morning All,

Today we have Sybil Nelson, the author of Presilla the Great answering a few questions for us. Here we go
--x--
What was your favorite book when you were a child/teen?
I loved Tess of the D’urburvilles by Thomas Hardy when I was a teen. I have no idea why. I am still slightly addicted to British literature and historical fiction as a whole.

Please tell us in one sentence only, why we should read your book.
Priscilla the Great has something for everyone, boys, girls, and adults.

Is there a song you could list as the theme song for your book or any of your characters?
Set Fire to the Rain by Adele

How did you know you should become an author?
I would read a book and have different possible story lines going on in my head. I decided I should write them down.

What's one piece of advice you would give aspiring authors?
Write every day.

What is your favorite Quote?
Never leave the house without a book to read and a book to write.

When you were little, what did you want to be when you "grew up"?
I wanted to be an illustrator until I realized I couldn’t even draw stick figures.

Any other books in the works? Goals for future projects?
I have an idea for a book called Puredon which is set 200 years in the future in a world where same race marriage is illegal. I’m currently working on a hilarious short story for the Priscilla the Great world. A spin-off series for the Priscilla the Great world called Dark Marco is due out later this year.

Can you see yourself in any of your characters?
I put a little of myself in all of my characters. I think Priscilla and her best friend Tai are just two different sides of me.

What's the craziest writing idea you've had?
The story of a girl who gets super powers with her first period. That story morphed into Priscilla the Great.
