Funny Things about Percy Jackson
Hello Everyone,
How is life going on? Hope you are all enjoying by the grace of God.
The other day, I was thinking about Percy Jackson Series. I am done with it and thinking what should I start reading now? Is the Cronus Chronicles good? Has any one tired it?
Now, let me share, what I feel is funny about Percy Jackson series:
The Gods, break oaths taken on river Styx. When someone breaks an oath, made on river styx, the consequences are very very serious. If the oath-breaker is a God, then oath-breaker is supposed to be exiled from the assembly of gods for ten years and be denied nectar or ambrosia during this time and for mortals the punishments are very very extreme. Zeus and Poisedon, seem to have walked free though they broke their oaths. Yet, Yet, the heroes, demi-gods,.. still take an oath of God on river Styx as reassuring. My goodness!!
The plot of series can be put as, Kronos a powerful Titan, comes back from Tartarus with help of Demi-Gods who are disgusted that their immortal parents aren't recognizing them. With help of smaller gods, who lack proper respect back in the Olympus. The series ends with Percy forcing all the Gods into oath, that they shall acknowledge thier children once they reach age of 13. Now Now, why don't the mortal parents reveal the immortal parent to child, once the child recognizes that the he/she is Demi-God? Isn't it easy?
Imagine your surprise, Percy asks oath from all Gods, that they shall acknowledge their children once the demi-gods reach age of 13 as the climax to the. Ha Ha!! What a joke!! Haven't gods forgotten their promises earlier? Haven't gods walked free from the punishment to be endowed by river Styx?
Have you gone through Percy Jackson? Liked it? Found any issues like this? What are you planning to read next? Any good book / series after Percy Jackson? Kindly let me know!!
With warm regards

Dreams and their Implications
Hello Everyone,
Few days back, I just heard that Twilight series was based on a dream. I dunno, if it is a rumor or truth, but it is too good to believe. I dream a lot *this is better way of saying, I sleep a lo
t Ha Ha* and I dream fiction. I mean stories, movie plots of what I have seen already, of what my mind is sub-consciously plotting, people whom I miss, my school and my college and I also see a lot, a lot of girls all the time in my dreams. This was a secret. Not to share. Now that many of my dreams are lost to memory I was particularly amazed myself that I made it a point to note down the major plot of my dreams from past three days. Here you go:
--x--
Troubled flight of a plane -- due to environment and technical reasons -- though crash landing, all members safe --
everyone relived – Govt. grounds the plane -- one day John sights the plane in his alley -- gets into it -- to see that all those passengers are all in there -- living stress free life in plane -- smoking -- drinking and having fun -- all coz everyone once had near death experience in the plane -- and their true fears, true reasons for survival and new enlightenment has come
--x--
American Force Recon team -- In mission -- mission compromised -- three men dead -- the rest arrested -- leader walks out of jail -- kills men responsible for compromising the mission without knowledge of anyone-- the team assists the nation which arrested them in covert missions --
--x--
Tears of a person seem to be very very powerful. Whenever he sheds tears due to grief, something weird happens
to people all around. One more person, he seems to have superpowers. He comes to realize about them when he is extremely stressed / joyful / passed out / exhausted.
Don't forget to enjoy the verses on the cartoon above regarding US Army sensitivity training
You ever see dreams like this? Or is something wrong with some of my circuits? You ever saw a dream which you wanna write into a book? You know about any wonderful books which were shaped from dreams?
with warm regards

Helping Hands
Hello Everyone,
How was your day going on? Mine was awesome till now and of course shall keep going that way. This post is in response to Short Story Slam Week 6 from the Bluebell books. The theme is simple and is to write a poem / story based on the prompt. The prompt is this cute picture of a dog and a puppy!! So, here is my article. I am calling the puppy as Franko
--x--
"I won't walk any further", shouted Franko, thinking if I was only taller, stronger and not limping, I would have kicked the hell out of this bully.
"You must" snorted the big bullying elephant carrying the puppy with its trunk and walking up hill
"Grrrr!!! Only coz you can bully" replied Franko
"Ha Ha!! Save your energy. You need to walk"
"Why don't you run? So far that you are out of my line of sight? If you are brave and worthy why don't you fight?" mocked the elephant
"Only if I wasn't limping, Only if I could run fast like my mom, I would have bit you and made you run for your mom. I shall ride on your back then." retorted Franko, thinking if it is even possible
"Whoa Whoa!! Hold your tongue." advised the elephant walking slowly carrying the puppy, who was struggling hard to release the grip.
"I can't. Don't you see? Its hard for me to walk down. Why on the earth do you torture me you moron? Can't you see that it hurts? Can't you feel my pain?" shouted back Franko
"Ha Ha!! I told you punk. You ought to be killed. Somewhere I have a feeling that you can walk down the hill another ten times. Somewhere I have the feeling that you can overcome that limp and truly bit me. I am waiting for it to happen" replied the old elephant putting the puppy down as they are already on top of hill. Is this puppy just arrogant. Is it useless for me to waste more time on this puppy? Should I give one more try? Can I teach the puppy to stand up for itself irrespective of what others think?
"Don't tell me you care!! You don't care a shit!! I can, I will walk down this god damn hill a million times but never never cry, not due to a bully like you" spoke Franko dashing out, trying to loose sight of the elephant
I shall not follow this puppy back now. He seems good enough to run. One day, this puppy will understand what is happening to him now. How I am helping him this very moment. Ha Ha!! This one too will soon forget me and I shall spend all my lonely years eating cane thought the elephant walking the other way trying to find some sugarcane.

Does Love make you great?
Hello Everyone,
How was your day going on? Mine was quite boring today, coz I decided not to do anything interesting!! Ha Ha!!
I was going through Harry Potter, not any book in particular. A little of here and a little of there!! Kindly go through the following excerpt which explains what the main strength of Harry Potter is?

"Yes, I think so," said Dumbledore. "Without his Horcruxes, Voldemort will be a mortal man with a maimed and diminished soul. Never forget, though, that while his soul may be damaged beyond repair, his brain and his magical powers remain intact. It will take uncommon skill and power to kill a wizard like Voldemort even without his Horcruxes."
"But I haven't got uncommon skill and power," said Harry, before he could stop himself.
"Yes, you have," said Dumbledore firmly. "You have a power that Voldemort has never had.
You can --" "I know!" said Harry impatiently. "I can love!" It was only with difficulty that he stopped himself adding, "Big deal!"
"Yes, Harry, you can love," said Dumbledore, who looked as though he knew perfectly well
what Harry had just refrained from saying. "Which, given everything that has happened to you, is a great and remarkable thing. You are still too young to understand how unusual you are, Harry."
"So, when the prophecy says that I'll have `power the Dark Lord knows not,' it just means -- love?" asked Harry, feeling a little let down.
"Yes -- just love," said Dumbledore. "But Harry, never forget that what the prophecy says is only significant because Voldemort made it so. I told you this at the end of last year. Voldemort singled you out as the person who would be most dangerous to him -- and in doing so, he made you the person who would be most dangerous to him!"
--x--
I have read fair amount of books. I feel, many a heroes are considered great coz they love viz Harry Potter, coz they care about their people viz Captain Shane Showfeild, Captian Jack West Jr, ... Is it ture? Will loving people around make you great? Will it help you become a hero?
I just dunno. I know people who love. I know they are pretty famous in their own circles. I was just thinking, if a character loves not people but glory alone, fights and takes pain for glory earned the right way, will he/she also be great? What is your opinion? Kindly let me know!!

Birthday Bash Blogfest
Hello Everyone,
I don't seem to be participating in ample blog fests and blog hops of late, right? Well, let me start doing that now!! So, this post is in response for the Birthday Bash Blog-fest from J. C. Martin. The prompt is simple, write a short story, starting with the phrase "A lot can happen in a year…” in no more than an hundred words, not counting the starting phrase!!
Well, here is my entry:
--x--
“A lot can happen in a year, when you are satisfied with your material progress” spoke Jane
“Yeah, you get peace & health” said John cutting Jane
“You become flirt of the day, read books & lose touch with reality”
“Ha Ha!! Not in my case”
“Moment you stop improving, you fall back, take rest and then understand you are lagging in job skills. “
“Hmmm…”
“You compromise as you liked current life style, you loose heart in girls, money, dream pay check and just get fatter all day”
“Jane!! I want this job not college. Can’t you “ shouted John
“I can!! Try to sit on the highest branch, before sitting idle”
--x--
Well, what do you say? It is a bad job right? I just dunno!! Let me re-edit it mean time! Tell me what you feel about it? Kindly let me know!!

Are Boys Blind
Hello Everyone,
Hope the week is going well for everyone of you. We have a terror attack against one of the most important cities of our country. Kindly pray for all dead, their families, the injured, their speedy recovery, bless the kind souls who risked their all to help the injured and for all the support they need.

Kindly pray for all dead, their families, the injured, their speedy recovery, bless the kind souls who risked their all to help the injured and for all the support they need.
Now, to cheer up, I wanna ask a question. ARE BOYS BLIND?? Here is a small excerpt from Percy Jackson and The Battle of Labyrinth. Ms. Annabeth is the best friend of Percy. Percy had to take help of Ms. Rachel in a quest and Ms. Annabeth is quite angry with it. She is behaving angry, irritated, so on!!! In simple words, Ms. Annabeth is supposedly in love with Percy here.
--x--
"We'll follow the path," she said. "The brightness on the floor."
"The brightness that led us straight into a trap?" Annabeth asked.
"Lay off her, Annabeth," I said. "She's doing the best she can."
Annabeth stood. "The fire's getting low. I'll go look for some more scraps while you guys talk strategy." And she marched off into the shadows.
Rachel drew another figure with her stick--an ashy Antaeus dangling from his chains.
Rachel raised her eyebrows. "Are you sure you don't know?"
"What do you mean?"
"Hey, don't you get on my case, too! Look, I'm sorry I got you involved in this."
"No, you were right," she said. "I can see the path. I can't explain it, but it's really clear."
--x--
Now my question, ARE BOYS REALLY BLIND? Don't they literally recognize love? I kind of run behind hell lot of girls *Laughs, Tries to sound cool. Winks* I think, I know of people who love me. I never recognized my dad's love. Accepted. But a girls love? Don't we recognize?
Are women authors, under misconception that boys won't recognize? Is the concept a myth created by women authors? What is your opinion?? Don't forget to pray plz!!!

Thursday Short Story Slam Week 5-Children's Literature
Hello Everyone,
How is everything going on? Fine I hope!! With me too, by the grace of god. Well, I am happy to be accepted, better say honored, as author for the Bluebell Books. I am gonna post review / tour of fiction books, biweekly on Bluebell Books. Isn't it wonderful? Yeah!! I know it is awesome indeed!!
This post is in response to the Thursday Short Story Slam Week, on Bluebell Books. I am supposed to write a short story or poem with response to their writing prompt. The prompt this week is the picture with the girl and plant. Here is my story:
"J220, can you listen to us?", asked the professor, meticulously checking every part and functioning of his new creation, the J220. A robotic chat buddy, which can speak to people and recognize them based on their voice.
"Proofessssor. I can recognize your voice" came the reply, to much relief of the team
"Jane, check out all other parameters, while I report the issues"
"Fine John. I shall take care"
"J220, read the text on your left", commanded Jane
"Name is and identifier with which we refer to a person, thing or place" read J220
"Good. J220 now identify yourself" commanded Jane
"I am J220. Manufactured in ACME labs, patent pending. Other details can't be disclosed" replied J220.
"Okay. J220, what do you see in this picture" asked Jane, pointing to the picture on the floor
"A child, Human, female. A plant and soil" replied Jane. Its sensors taking in every minute detail about the colors, the expressions, background and everything else.
"Now let us check how you can process data. J220, what is the child in the picture doing?"
"Child in picture, Smiling, white dress, leaning her head on table, extending her hand as if shoving the soil into heap."
"Good. J220, the child is nurturing the plant. Note it down in your memory" ordered Jane
"Fine Jane. I shall. Nurturing is caring and encouraging the growth and development of something or somebody. Are you nurturing me Jane?" blurted out J220, enthusiastically.
"Hmmm. No J220. I am your friend. Professor is nurturing you by the day. Not me." explained Jane.
"Will professor also smile, lay down his head on bench and shove soil around me into a heap?" asked J220.
"Can you sit on a table like that plant?" asked irritated Jane
"No. I don't have body. I can't sit" complained the J220
"All is fine. Shut Down" ordered Jane writing a report saying "J220 is dangerous, since it has the capability of reasoning and storing personal data. The vocal output from the J220 seems to be problematic"

Well, what do you say? Is a robot / artificial intelligence's brain child a danger to all of us, if it can store our data? If it can analyze? If it can think? Well, I simply know that almost all robot based movies, like terminator, believe in this. What do you say?

Faith In Ourselves
Hello Everyone,
How is life going on?? Enjoying I guess, by god's grace. I am reading the Percy Jackson series from past few days. Percy Jackson and his friends are on quest to save their homeland and to prevent war between Olympians and the Titans. Here is a small excerpt from it the book. Percy Jackson and his friends find Briares, a hundred - handed one, who fought with Titans earlier. Here is an excerpt from the book:
--x--
“Don’t talk that way,” Annabeth told him. “You can come back to camp with us. You can help us prepare. You know more about fighting Titans than anybody.”
“I have nothing to offer,” Briares said. “I have lost everything.”
“What about your brothers?” Tyson asked. “The other two must stand tall as mountains! We can take you to them.”
Briares’s expression morphed to something even sadder: his grieving face.
“They are no more. They faded.”
The waterfalls thundered. Tyson stared into the pit and blinked tears out of his eye.
“What exactly do you mean, they faded?” I asked. “I thought monsters were immortal, like the gods.”
“Percy,” Grover said weakly, “even immortality has limits. Sometimes…sometimes monsters get forgotten and they lose their will to stay immortal.”
--x--
“Kronos’s army will invade camp,” Tyson said. “We need help.”
Briares hung his head. “I cannot, Cyclops.”
“You are strong.”
“Not anymore.” Briares rose.
“Hey,” I grabbed one of his arms and pulled him aside, where the roar of the water would hide our words. "Briares, we need you. In case you haven’t noticed, Tyson believes in you. He risked his life for you.”
I told him about everything—Luke’s invasion plan, the Labyrinth entrance at camp, Daedalus’s workshop, Kronos’s golden coffin.
Briares just shook his head. “I cannot, demigod. I do not have a finger gun to win this game.” To prove his point, he made one hundred finger guns.
“Maybe that’s why monsters fade,” I said. “Maybe it’s not about what the mortals believe. Maybe it’s because you give up on yourself.”
His pure brown eyes regarded me. His face morphed into an expression I recognized—shame. Then he turned and trudged off down the corridor until he was lost in the shadows.
Tyson sobbed.
--x--
Isn't it true?? When immortals give-up on themselves, they even fade and are lost for ever and ever!! What about us? What will happen the moment we give-up on ourselves?? Well, nothing I guess. Our dreams become distant dreams. We are lost in the struggle for existence. right?? We can't become Shakesphere of the day, can't become the next J. K. Rowling, can't lose weight, can't stand first in our section, can't do anything cool!! So, Never Never give up!! What say??

Fantasy -- Prophecy
Hello Everyone,
How is life going on?? Enjoying I guess!!
Few days back, a friend of mine introduced me to Percy Jackson, the demigod (aka Half-blood, Half-Human, Half-God), the son of Sea god. Here is a small excerpt from the Percy Jackson & the Olmypians "The Titan's Curse"
--x--
"What about the monster Artemis was seeking?" I asked. "Do you know what it is?"
Apollo Sun God |
"No," Apollo said. "But there is one who might. If you haven't yet found the monster when you reach San Francisco, seek out Nereus, the Old Man of the Sea. He has a long memory and a sharp eye. He has the gift of knowledge sometimes kept obscure from my Oracle."
"But it's your Oracle," I protested. "Can't you tell us what the prophecy means?"
Apollo sighed. "You might as well ask an artist to explain his art, or ask a poet to explain his poem. It defeats the purpose. The meaning is only clear through the search."
"In other words, you don't know."
Apollo Sun God |
Apollo checked his watch. "Ah, look at the time! I have to run. I doubt I can risk helping you again, Percy, but remember what I said! Get some sleep! And when you return, I expect a good haiku about your journey!"
--x--
Ha!! Awesome right?? The meaning is only clear through the search. Ha!! So why do Ever thought how important role the prophecies play in the fantasy related books?
- Lord Voldemort is all crazy about the prophecy made by Professor Sybill Trelawney
- Angela's prophecy for Eragon of trouble, women and future
- Prophecy regarding undead army of oath breakers in Lord of Rings series
- Prophecy about four humans who shall end the winter by defeating the witch in Chronicles of Narnia, ..
I hope this is ringing a bell. Prophecy and fantasy go together right?? You read any fantasy book without prophecy? Books where the main story is not foretold in prophecy?? Let me know!! And what are your other favorite fantasy books??

Why to blog?? Part 1
Hello Everyone,
How is the week going on?? Well, mine is kinda dull this time!! Not much happening!! Not much blogging! Its like .. all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy!!! Ha??
I was just wondering what to blog upon? I was wondering if blogging changed me / influenced me?? Well, Yeah!! Blogging helped me a lot! I got to know all of you (read my wonderful readers). I got to know about the blog-fests and the fun in writing for them!!
I believed that the best way to determine if you understand a concept is to try explaining it to someone else or to yourself. While blogging, our thoughts crystallize due to the writing. It is like reinforcing my thoughts and ideas.. Don't you think so??
Blogging clarifies the ideas floating around in your head and makes them more permanent kind of. The advantage of a blog over a journal is that your writing is read by other readers and when people give you comments, their suggestions and the discussion becomes productive, you gotta learn a lot. This also helps in making your writing fun, helps me stick to my writing goal at least tells me start with blog whenever I am struck!!
What do you think?? Do you write for your readers alone?? Do you write for yourself?? Does blogging help you in any way??
With warm regards
